Jason Duval
Official backstory from Rockstar, then our five-view visual study.
CHARACTER FILE / OFFICIAL BACKSTORY
Who is Jason Duval?
Jason wants an easy life, but things just keep getting harder.
Rockstar introduces Jason Duval as one of GTA 6’s two playable leads: a former soldier who drifted back to the Leonida Keys and works for the local drug runners.
Jason grew up around grifters and crooks. A stint in the Army was his attempt to shake off a troubled adolescence; when it ended, he found himself in the Keys doing what he knows best, working for local drug runners. Rockstar’s profile adds that it might be time to try something new.
That work runs through Brian Heder, a veteran smuggler who lets Jason live rent-free in one of his properties as long as he helps with local shakedowns and stops by for Lori’s sangria once in a while. Jason’s friend in the Keys is Cal Hampton, Brian’s other associate, who is happy where he is while Jason has bigger plans.
Rockstar frames Jason as a man who wants an easy life and keeps getting a harder one. Meeting Lucia, the profile says, could be the best or the worst thing to ever happen to him: he knows how he would like it to turn out, but right now it is hard to tell.
Connections: Lucia Caminos, partner, met during the story · Brian Heder, landlord and employer · Cal Hampton, friend.
